Can AM manipulate your character's body in small ways? Sure. In canon, Ganymede was frozen in place while Apollo killed his brother, and he HATES it.

Can AM influence your character's mind? Absolutely. I don't know if he can do anything with memories but considering memories are all he has left of his home, he'd hate to have those messed with.
